Sports Premium

The government introduced the PE and sports premium for primary schools in 2014. The additional annual funding is provided to improve the provision of physical education and sports in primary schools. This funding is ring-fenced and therefore can only be spend on the provision of PE and sport within schools.

Last year, in 2024 - 2025, we received £16,950 and spent this on continuous professional development, internal activities and external activities to fulfil the aims which are:

  • To support all children and young people to live healthy, active lives
  • To make participation in PE and school sport easier
  • To make sure all children can achieve and thrive through increased physical activity and sport, no matter their background or ability
  • To improve children’s health, wellbeing, personal development and academic attainment
  • To embed the foundations of positive and enjoyable participation in regular physical activity.
  • To ensure children and young people should take part in moderate to vigorous intensity physical activity for at least 60 minutes every day
