Friends of the School

Where the fun starts for the whole family.

Friends of Durrington Infants (FODI) is a committee made up of parents and teachers, who meet regularly to organise activities around the school. A team of people who have a genuine passion for creating memorable events which raise funds for the school and enrich the children's experiences. Look out in the Newsletter and on Class Dojo for details of events. FODI is keen to welcome new members so if you’d like to become more involved with school life, please come along to any of the events or meetings. Whether you can attend every meeting, or one every now and again, everyone is welcome. If you can’t make a meeting but can help out or have any fund raising ideas, please let us know. Your views support and help at events is always appreciated. To contact us please find us at an event or leave a note for us in the office.

We support projects that benefit every child

The money raised from events goes towards buying equipment for the school, contributions towards class trips and outings and much more! We have furnished the school's new sensory room, decorated the central library and re-stocked each class library with modern, diverse texts that reflect our community and wider world. We want our little ones to have the best experiences at school so any help with our events, big or small, is very welcome and much appreciated!

There are so many ways that FODI raises money and as each event approaches, it will be advertised in the school newsletter and on Class Dojo. Please come along to the events and help out if you can by volunteering. Here are some of our many regular events:

Coffee mornings - stay and join us for a cuppa after Celebration worship at the start of each term

Winter Fayre - come and play games or browse the stalls and start your Christmas shopping.            

Valentine's Day cake sale

World Book Day - we provide the biscuits and hot chocolate for you to enjoy whilst reading with your children.

Paper aeroplane competition - a fun event to celebrate the end of Science week

Easter disco - all children are invited to dance and have fun at our end of term party where every child will leave with a small Easter gift.

Easter Bonnet Parade - Make a bonnet and parade at the school bonnet parade to be in with the chance of winning an Easter prize.

Summer Fayre - Stay with the family to browse stalls, play games, eat, drink and have fun at our end of year party.

'The Leavers' water fight - each Year 2 child is presented with their very own water pistol and gets to soak the teachers!
